Mission

Equipping educators, students, and parents with the resources and support to make schools safer and more respectful of all people.

Vision

A safe, respectful, and caring environment for all students requires the steadfast effort of boards, administrators, faculty, parents, staff, and students. Bullying is not prevented by strong codes of conduct alone, but by all that educational leaders do to foster mutual respect in the school community. Creation of a Safe School program demonstrates the school's commitment to safeguarding the dignity and well-being of every student.

We believe. . .

Every student needs to feel safe at school.

Peaceful schools enhance academic excellence.

Bullying is abuse. It should not be regarded as a rite of passage or just a part of growing up.

Bullying is the school form of the societal problems of violence, disrespect, and lack of civility when values are in conflict. Educators and parents must therefore teach and model peace, respect for human dignity, and nonviolent communication.
